An investigation of the affect of the concentration an of the rate of :: GCSE Chemistry Coursework Investigation

An investigation of the instill of the concentration an of the rate of answer.Introduction.We are trying to find out the motivation of acid concentration on the rateof reaction, we are using 2, 1.5, 1, 0.5, 0.25 torpedo(a) acid. In our sample, we are reacting it with sodium thiosulphate. The collisiontheory will be involved in this, for instance the more concentratedthe acid we office, the windy the reaction will occur and the lower theconcentration the slower the reaction will occur, this is because thecollision theory claims that if something is more concentrated then itwill collide more because there will be more of the substance. Wecould use a catalyst to speed up the reaction, this allows themolecules to move around easier to dish out them to collide more to speedup the reaction for instance separate that people are trying to set overwall it is potential but it will take a slow process and say that weadd a catalyst, our catalyst is a ladder this enables the people(mol ecules) to get over the wall quicker and easier than they normallywould. In this try we neediness to control the amount of acid, amount of water, chemicalswater temperature amount of sodiumthiosulphate and to all go over when the x is gone on the paper. We needto be safe when doing this by wearing goggles and making sure that wedispose of the end root chemical in a large beaker in the fume cupboard and not down the sink, we also need to make sure we do notlean over the conical flask when we perform the experiment because thechemical fumes are pungent and are not healthy to breath in.Method.We are going to measure the rate of reaction by how fast or slowly themix of chemicals and water goes cloudy by placing a piece of paperwith a cross on it underneath the conical flask and all agreeing whenit has disappeared from sight. In this experiment we will need to use the followingEquipment UseStop clockTo time the experimentConical flaskTo collect all the chemicals together in buretTo m easure accurately all the chemical and waterSodium thiosulphate chemic employ in this experimentHydrochloric acidChemical used in this experiment, we will use 2, 1.5, 1, 0.5 and 0.25molar strengthsWaterUsed in this experiment, used in dilutionsPaperUsed along with cross of colour to catch when mixture is cloudyenoughBeakersUsed to hold the chemicals and waterDilutionsTo stimulate the different strengths of hydrochloric acid we will need todilute 2 molar acids and dilute it with water to reach the appropriate
